Aizawl (Mizonews.Net): In a step nearer to setting up of Mizoram University Campus in Lunglei, HPC Vice Chairman Joseph Lalhimpuia held a meeting with UGC Chairman Prof. Ved Prakash in Delhi on Friday last, government sources said on Tuesday.

Lalhimpuia informed the UGC Chairman about the request already put up by Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla to place MZU Campus in Lunglei which is believed to facilitate more progress in education in the State, and also informed him that MZUalso included this agenda in the UGC 12 Plan.

He further informed the UGC Chairman of the readiness on the part of Mizoram Government in whatever steps is needed to be taken, and also expressed wishes that UGC may also do the same on its part.

Further, he informed the UGC Chairman that Lunglei Govt College may be rechristened as Mizoram University Constituent College.

Prof.Ved.Prakash has assured that necessary steps may be taken in order to ensure setting up of MZU Campus in Lunglei, and also that he will make arrangement for assistance from UGC until the plan is fulfilled.

After their meeting on the same day at 6:00 P.M. UGC Chairman Joseph Lalhimpuia met HPC Vice Chairman Lalhlimpuia at his lodging Mizoram House Delhi where he informed about his drafted plan for setting up of MZU Campus and how he prepares to take follow up steps as fast as possible.

HPC Vice Chairman, thanking the UGC Chairman, also informed the latter that Mizoram Government will also take all necessary steps on its part.
